PatientsYou don't have to be an elite athlete.
Do you already have a referral?
A referral is required before you're seen — this is about whether you already have one, or need to sort one out first.
YesI have a referral.
You're ready to book. Bring the referral with you, or better yet, send it through ahead of time (preferred) — it gives you a significantly higher Medicare rebate, and we'll have already reviewed it before your visit.
Book an appointmentNo, not yetI don't have one.
You can still call or email to get started — a referral is required before your appointment, not before you make contact. We'll talk you through what's needed and by when. Clinical information is still required at the time of booking for triage purposes.

What to expectYour journey with Cadence.
Every consultation is built to get you an answer, not just an appointment.
BeforeGetting ready
We review your history and any imaging before you arrive, so you're not starting from zero in the room. Bring your referral — or better yet, send through all relevant information, including referrers and practitioners involved in your care, before your visit. We triage our referrals, so the more information the better.
DuringYour appointment
A thorough assessment, a plain-language explanation, and a realistic plan built with you — not handed to you. You'll know your next steps before you leave.
AfterStaying on track
A prompt, detailed report back to your referrer, with copies to you and your allied health team. We don't work to a fixed follow-up schedule, but reviewing progress — and revising or investigating further if something isn't working — is standard practice, informed by your situation and guided by you or your allied health team.
What this actually costs.
No competitor we reviewed publishes real figures. We think you should know before you book, not after.

A referral from your GP or another medical specialist is required before you're seen at Cadence — it also gives you a significantly higher Medicare rebate and assists with the triage process. If your only referral is from allied health, a lower rebate may apply; call us and we'll talk you through it.

FAQA few quick questions.
-
Yes — a referral from your GP or another medical specialist is required before you're seen. You don't need one in hand to get in touch or book; you can start the process first and provide it before your appointment. It also gives you access to the higher Medicare rebate.
-
Yes. We review your referral, history and any imaging before your appointment, so your first visit builds on that rather than starting from scratch. It is for this reason that receiving correspondence and results ahead of time is very useful.
-
We triage every case, and hold urgent appointment slots — let us know when you get in touch, and we'll do our best to see you sooner.
-
Yes — though an in-person appointment is often recommended, because physical examination findings genuinely inform the assessment.
-
If you're moving with Dr Hasenkam or Dr Chamberlain from their previous practice, you'll need to authorise that practice to release your health record to us — a standard process we can guide you through. See "Moving from another practice" on our New Patients page for the details and the form.
